Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective date: September 8, 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to Korean language lessons and courses provided by Andrew Korean.

By booking or purchasing a lesson or course, you agree to this policy.

1. Cancellation Before the Course Begins

If a student cancels a course before the first lesson begins, the amount paid for the course will be refunded in full, except where otherwise permitted by applicable law.

2. Refund After the Course Has Begun

If a student wishes to discontinue a course after lessons have begun, the refund will be calculated in accordance with applicable Korean law and consumer protection requirements.

For a course with a teaching period of one month or less, the following standards generally apply:

  • Before the course begins: 100% of the tuition paid will be refunded.
  • Before one-third (1/3) of the total teaching time has elapsed: Two-thirds (2/3) of the tuition paid will be refunded.
  • After one-third (1/3) but before one-half (1/2) of the total teaching time has elapsed: One-half (1/2) of the tuition paid will be refunded.
  • After one-half (1/2) of the total teaching time has elapsed: No refund will generally be provided, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

For courses lasting longer than one month, refunds will be calculated in accordance with the refund standards required by applicable Korean law.

Where different or additional mandatory consumer protection rules apply, those rules will take precedence.

3. Private 1:1 Lesson Cancellation and Rescheduling

For private one-on-one lessons, students may request to cancel or reschedule an individual lesson at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.

If notice is provided at least 24 hours in advance, the lesson may be rescheduled without losing that lesson.

If a student cancels less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time or does not attend the lesson without notice, the lesson may be treated as used, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This individual lesson cancellation rule does not limit any refund rights that the student may have under mandatory applicable law.

4. Group Class Absence

Group classes are conducted according to a fixed schedule.

If a student misses a group lesson for personal reasons, an individual make-up lesson or refund for that particular missed class is generally not provided.

However, this rule does not limit any cancellation or refund rights available to the student under applicable law.

5. Cancellation by Andrew Korean

If Andrew Korean is unable to provide a scheduled lesson due to circumstances on the teacher's or provider's side, the student will be offered an appropriate solution, such as:

  • Rescheduling the lesson;
  • Providing a replacement lesson;
  • Providing lesson credit; or
  • Refunding the affected amount.

If the course itself cannot continue, any refund due will be calculated and provided in accordance with applicable law.

6. Group Class Cancellation or Insufficient Enrollment

If a group course cannot begin because of insufficient enrollment or circumstances on the side of Andrew Korean, students may choose an available alternative class where appropriate.

If an appropriate alternative cannot be provided or the student does not agree to the proposed alternative, the amount paid for lessons that cannot be provided will be refunded in accordance with applicable law.

7. Technical Problems

Students are responsible for maintaining an appropriate device and internet connection for online lessons.

Technical problems on the student's side do not automatically entitle the student to a refund or replacement lesson.

If a significant technical problem on Andrew Korean's side prevents the lesson from being properly provided, an appropriate replacement lesson, rescheduling option, credit, or refund will be provided.

8. Payment and Currency Conversion Fees

Banks, card issuers, payment processors, or international payment services may charge transaction, international payment, or currency conversion fees.

The amount actually received by the student after a refund may vary because of exchange-rate changes or fees charged independently by the student's bank or payment provider.

Nothing in this section permits Andrew Korean to deduct fees where such a deduction is prohibited by applicable law.

9. Refund Processing

Refund requests should be submitted to Andrew Korean using the contact information provided below.

Please provide your name, course or lesson information, payment information, and the reason for your refund request.

Where Korean law governing tuition refunds applies, refunds will be processed within the legally required period, including within five days from the occurrence of the applicable refund reason where required.

After Andrew Korean processes a refund, additional time may be required for the funds to appear in the student's account depending on the bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

10. Applicable Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

If this policy conflicts with mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to a particular transaction, the mandatory legal requirements will take precedence.
